One of the challenges in drug development is through genomic approaches. The presence of genetic variation in human can cause different drug responses, so that it need personalized medicine. The lack of personalized medicine in chronic disease treatment is one of the challenges for further research development. In addition, the drug designs or structure modification and also the development of natural product can be applied for prevention or as a treatment intervention in chronic diseases. Furthermore, to increase patient adherence to their medication, the pharmaceutical formulation especially the drug dosage form development, is needed. Beside that, pharmacoeconomics play role to evaluate the effectiveness of patient treatment costs. The discovery of bioactive compounds can support the handling of chronic diseases, and by using Health Technology Assessment (HTA) will obtain safety and cost effective medicines.
Faculty of Pharmacy and Science of Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA) in collaboration with Association of Muhammadiyah Pharmacy Higher Education (APTFM) in Indonesia would organize the first International Conference entitled “Muhammadiyah International Conference on Health and Pharmaceutical Development (MICH-PhD)" with the theme of “Current Innovation in Chronic Disease Treatment”. It aims to provide an opportunity for participants to present their researches and to expose participants to the development and innovation made in health and various disciplines of pharmacy.
At the conference, participants will have a meeting place to expand their knowledge of current development in pharmacogenetics, pharmacoeconomics, targetting therapy, etc. This event will be a good opportunity for them to share their research findings and to establish networks. Providing a precious opportunity, MICH-PhD invites student, academicians, pharmaceutical scientists and other researchers, pharmaceutical organizations, and all representatives of pharmacy to showcase their cutting edge findings and at the same time to be exposed to useful collections of research and the latest developments. This event is expected to give significant contributions to the society, particularly in medical and pharmaceutical developments.
